shouldweri.de ("the app", "we") is a cycling weather-verdict app made by Common Tools Co. It is built to work as a guest, with no account; signing in is optional and only needed for syncing across devices and for inviting or joining a shared ride. This policy explains what data the app handles, why, and the choices you have. We do not sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps or websites.

What we handle, and why

• Location. Used to fetch the local weather forecast that produces the ride verdict. Your coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo to retrieve the forecast. They are kept on your device and are only stored on our servers if you set up a morning briefing (so the scheduled check knows where to look).
• Notification token. If you enable briefings or the rideable alarm, your device's push token, chosen times, time zone, and ride criteria are stored so our scheduler can send the right verdict at the right time.
• Account (optional). If you sign in (Apple, Google, or email), our authentication provider (Clerk) stores your email address, a display name you set, and the sign-in identifiers needed to keep you signed in and to sync your criteria and briefing settings across your devices.
• Ride invites (optional). If you invite friends to a ride or join one, we store the ride details, your account display name, and a record of the rides you join. Your display name is shown to other people on that ride and to its organiser. If you organise a ride, your device's push token is stored so we can notify you when someone joins; when you join a ride, the organiser is sent a notification. A shareable ride link shows the ride's verdict and the names of those who have joined.
• Strava and RideWithGPS (optional). If you connect Strava or RideWithGPS, we store access tokens for that account and read your saved routes so the app can judge them leg by leg. We request the minimum access needed to read your routes. You can disconnect at any time, which revokes our access at that service.
• Ride criteria and settings. Your thresholds and preferences are stored on your device, and on your account if you sign in.

Who processes data for us

• Open-Meteo - weather forecasts (receives coordinates).
• Clerk - authentication and account identity (if you sign in).
• Supabase - secure storage of briefing schedules, synced settings, ride invites, and Strava / RideWithGPS tokens.
• Strava and RideWithGPS - your routes (if you connect).
• Expo / Apple Push Notification service - delivering notifications.

Retention and deletion

Briefing and alarm settings are kept while they are enabled; turning a briefing off removes its schedule. If you have an account, you can delete it from inside the app under Account → Delete account. Deleting your account removes your synced settings, your Strava and RideWithGPS connections (revoked at the source), the rides you organised and the record of rides you joined, and unlinks your account from any device briefing. Guest data stored on your device stays on your device until you remove the app or reset it.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
